Dragon Ball Z (Raditz Saga)

 

     Introduction

         Dragon Ball Z is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation. Part of the Dragon Ball Media Franchise, it is the sequel to the 1986 Dragon anime series and adapts the latter 325 chapters of the original Dragon Ball Manga Series created by Akira Toriyama which ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1988 to 1995. The series aired in Japan on Fuji TV from April 1989 to January 1996 and was later dubbed for broadcast in at least 81 countries worldwide.

Dragon Ball Z continues the adventures of Son Goku in his adult life as he and his companions defend the Earth against villains including aliens (Vegeta, Frieza), androids (Cell), and magical creatures (Majin Buu). At the same time, the story parallels the life of his son, Gohan, as well as the development of his rivals, Piccolo and Vegeta.

The Raditz Saga

       The Raditz Saga started at the Episode# 1 in which Gohan had gone wandering out in the woods and forgot his way back. Chi-Chi, the wife of Son Goku, was calling for Gohan to come back home. And that's when Goku enters the yard of their house after chopping some wood. Chi-Chi tells him to search for Gohan in the woods so they could go together to Kame's house (the house of Master Roshi). Goku calls for his ride which is The Nimbus, a flying cloud of golden color and then leaves the yard to search for Gohan.

          Meanwhile, Gohan was sobbing because he thought that he would never be able to go back home again. he sees a beautiful butterfly and chases it. The butterfly sat on a log which was balanced on a rock and even Gohan sat on that same log. while talking with the butterfly, the log lost its balance and Gohan fell in the river with the log. Holding the log, Gohan cried for help. Gohan saw a waterfall and fell from a great height, and then, just in time Goku with his flying nimbus saved Gohan from dashing onto the rocks. 

          And then they leave for Kame's House. Meanwhile Bulma reaches the Kame's House, but Krillin and Master Roshi were already there. After some time Goku and Gohan reached the house and Bulma and Krillin and Master Roshi Are surprised to see a child with Goku and asked what the child's name was. Goku gave the introduction that his name is Gohan.

           In the meantime, a mysterious spacecraft crashes on a field. A Farmer driving by saw the crash and went to the crash site. With a gun in hand, he got out of his truck to check. the doors of the space pod open and that's when Raditz comes out of his spacecraft. Long spiky hair, an Armour made of a mysterious substance, a huge and well-shaped body, he looked indestructible. Afraid, the Farmer shot Raditz, but it did not even make a scratch on him. Raditz killed the Farmer and went out on a search of a person named Kakarrot. He had a device on his head called a scouter. With he could track any kind of energy in the range of the whole planet. First, he sensed an evil energy and thought it as Kakarrot. he flew towards that direction and found out that it was Piccolo, an evil Namekian and a rival of Goku.

           

               The poor evil Namekian tried the strongest attack in his arsenal but failed to even bring a scratch on him. Raditz, with his attitude, told Piccolo that he would spare his life. And sensed the strongest energy on earth. He thought that the energy would be of Kakarrot and flew towards the energy. Goku sensed an enormous amount of energy coming towards him and grabbed hold of Gohan for his protection. And then Goku could see it, long spiky hair, an Armour made of a mysterious substance, a huge and well-shaped body, he looked indestructible, it was Raditz.

             He greeted Goku as Kakarrot. Goku asked that who was Kakarrot. Raditz slapped his head and asked Goku if he had fallen on his head very hard. Goku told that Grandpa Gohan had told him that Goku had once been wandering in the forest and had fallen on his head off a cliff. Raditz told Goku that when a Saiyan falls on his own head he forgets his memories of the past. Goku asked who a Saiyan is. Raditz told that a Saiyan is a species of superhuman apes who used to live on Planet Vegeta which was destroyed a long time ago and Goku was one of them. He said that they were brothers and he had come to fetch Goku for the team of the last Saiyans in the universe. Then Raditz asked where Goku's tail was. Goku told that it was cut off a long time ago. And after a long time of thinking Goku disagreed to join the team of Saiyans. Raditz got angry and attacked Goku and saw Gohan with a tail and asked Goku if he was his son. Goku agreed. Raditz took hold of Gohan's tail and picked him up. He asked Goku to think about joining the Saiyan's team. And if Goku disagrees he would lose Gohan forever. Raditz flies off.

              Goku is clearly distressed at his situation, and vows to rescue his son; Krillin and master Roshi offered to help him fight although Goku tells them to stay because he doesn't want them to be killed again since Shenron can only revive someone once. Before they can depart, however, he is confronted by his nemesis Piccolo. Piccolo encountered Raditz after Raditz had first arrived on Earth and was terrified by his raw power. Aware that they now have a common enemy, Piccolo suggests that he and Goku join forces to confront Raditz, which Goku hesitatingly agrees to. Bulma offers up her dragon radar to track the 4-star dragon ball on the top of Gohan's hat, thus finding his location.

               But in the meanwhile, Raditz reaches the space pod and puts the crying Gohan inside it. And his scouter senses two powerful warriors coming towards him. They were Piccolo and Goku. Raditz with an arrogant grin, flies into the air, ready to fight them. and the fight starts. First Raditz knocks out Goku with a powerful punch. Piccolo starts to put punches on him, but nothing worked out. While Piccolo was distracting Raditz, Goku was ready to put a Kamehameha on him. He did the attack but Raditz somehow managed to neutralize the attack. Then Raditz started to throw ki blasts from both his hands at them. Goku dodged them, but Piccolo lost one arm. Then Piccolo put his special beam cannon to use and distracted Raditz. Meanwhile Goku grabbed the tail of Raditz because he knew if he was a Saiyan then it was his only weakness. Raditz fell on the ground. he apologized Goku and promised to leave the planet alone. Goku trusted him and let go of the Saiyan's tail. As predicted by Piccolo, Raditz gave Goku a very powerful blow. Goku screaming in pain, fell on the ground. Gohan had been hearing all this screaming helplessly. Getting angry, Gohan broke the pod in pieces. When Raditz checked his scouter, it showed that Gohan's power was 1,307. Raditz figured out that Gohan's power was based on emotions. Gohan flying towards Raditz angrily headbutted Raditz's chest breaking the armour. Gohan's power returned back to 1. 

                Goku with all the power left in him grabbed hold of the wounded Raditz and Piccolo put a serious attack which was special beam cannon piercing though both Raditz and Goku's body. Both heavily wounded fell on the ground. Piccolo told Raditz that they can revive Goku with the dragon balls. Raditz said that the scouter works as a transmitter and his fellow stronger Saiyans would be hearing this and take his revenge by resurrecting him again. Piccolo angry by hearing this gave Raditz an early deathblow.
